Tim Wiley: CEOTim is the third generation in this family business. He started working in the stone industry over 29 years ago, back when his father owned the company. He started out in the shop polishing tile edges. He worked his way up the ranks, and when his dad closed shop a few years later, took over the business and everything involved, from sales to cutting, polishing, and installation. At the time, Stone Center was one of only three stone fabrication shops in Portland. The industry has grown significantly since then and Stone Center along with it. Tim really has done it all. He is an expert in the field, and is upfront and honest about his work. With his many years of experience dealing with all types of materials and situations, he is the one we go to for solutions and new ideas. He lives by one of his mottos: “never be afraid to try something that you have not done,” and is always up for the challenge of turning your dream into a reality.

Founded by John Wiley, Stone Center is a 3rd generation company that began supplying and installing building stone and flagstone in the early 1950s. Over the years, they expanded to include cut and polished hearths and mantles into Stone Center projects, eventually moving entirely into custom dimensional stone applications.
John's grandson, Tim, took over operations in 1985 and has overseen everything from sales to cutting, polishing and installation at Stone Center. With almost 30 years in the stonework industry, Tim Wiley is a Certified Stone Inspector, Stone Forensics Expert and has been a member of the Marble Institute of America since 1984.
Stone Center recirculates water for the stone cutting process to reduce consumption, and donates remnant materials to the Portland Rebuilding Center. Small scraps are taken to a recycling center to be processed into gravel.
